The Spirit 1.0 Evo represents the high-end evolution of the Spirit series. While sharing the lightweight, direct-drive DNA of the Spirit 1.0 Plus, the "Evo" adds professional-grade capabilities such as self-charging under sail and compatibility with remote helm steering. It is built to be a clean, maintenance-free alternative to small gas engines, offering silent operation and a vibration-free experience that traditional internal combustion outboards cannot match.

Key Features and Benefits

• Hydrogeneration Capacity: A industry-leading feature for sailors. When the boat moves under sail between 4 and 10 knots, the propeller spins in the wake, converting kinetic energy back into the battery. At 6 knots, it can generate approximately 100W, and up to 300W at higher speeds.+1
• Floating Lithium Battery: The 1276 Wh battery is designed with positive buoyancy. If it falls into the water during installation or removal, it will float for easy retrieval.+1
• Silent Direct-Drive: By housing the brushless motor in the lower pod and eliminating the gearbox, the motor operates at a noise level under 55dB. This also removes the need for oil changes or winterization.
• Advanced Safety: The motor includes a magnetic kill switch for emergency stops. It is also compatible with a wireless safety wristband that triggers an immediate shutdown if a person falls overboard.+1

Sizing Guide

Choosing the correct shaft length is critical for performance and to prevent cavitation. Measurement for ePropulsion is taken from the top of the clamp bracket to the center of the propeller.

• Short Shaft (S): 62.5 cm / 24.6 inches. Recommended for boats with a transom height between 40 cm and 50 cm (15.7" – 19.7").
• Long Shaft (L): 75 cm / 29.5 inches. Recommended for boats with a transom height higher than 50 cm (19.7").
• Note on XS: The Extra Short (XS) shaft is only available for the Spirit 1.0 Plus model and is not an option for the Evo.

Performance Estimates

Based on testing with a 12-foot aluminum boat and one passenger in calm water:

• Full Throttle (1000W): Speed of ~6.2 mph (10 kph), with a runtime of 1 hour and 15 minutes and a range of 7.8 miles.
• Half Throttle (500W): Speed of ~5.3 mph (8.5 kph), with a runtime of 2 hours and 30 minutes and a range of 13.3 miles.
• Cruising (250W): Speed of ~4.4 mph (7.1 kph), with a runtime of 5 hours and a range of 22 miles.
